Indianapolis, IN, October 27, 2005 --
Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL) is sending mutual assistance crews to West Virginia to assist in restoration efforts following recent snowstorms. The crews and resources will be assigned to Allegheny Power to help repair damage left by eight to 10 inches of wet snow that fell on the area earlier this week.
Crews are scheduled to leave from IPL’s Morris Street Facility (1230 W. Morris St.) at 6 a.m., Friday, October 28. About 30 personnel will head to Morgantown, West Virginia where they will start work Saturday to assist the effort to restore power to about 80,000 customers. Restoration is expected to be completed early next week.
Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL) provides retail electric service to approximately 460,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in Indianapolis, Indiana, and other central Indiana communities surrounding Marion County.
