IPL offers two types of payment extensions to help customers get caught up.

Short-Term Extensions

  • Best for customers who just need a few extra days to pay their current bill
  • Approval is based on account status and payment history
  • Available for residential and business customers

Long-Term Extensions

Due to COVID-19, IPL is offering longer extension options to help customers facing financial challenges. Don't wait! COVID-19 extensions are only available for a limited time.

  • Residential customers can divide payments over 3, 6, 9 or 12 months.
  • Commercial customers can divide payments over 3, 6 or 9 months.
  • IPL will divide your remaining balance over the extension period. This amount will be included in the total amount due on your coming bills.

  • Payment extension requests must be made at least two business days before your due date or scheduled disconnect date.
  • Large commercial and industrial customers with an account representative should speak with their account rep for customized payment plan options.
