Two types of electric vehicles (EVs) are on the roads of Indianapolis today: hybrids and all-electrics. Hybrid vehicles run first on battery power and then by gasoline if needed. All-electric vehicles run totally on battery power.

Most EV drivers who enroll in IPL’s EVX time-based rate for their EV charging needs can commute to work, regular activities and home again for less than $1 a day. In fact, compared to traditional vehicles, EVs can save drivers as much as $9 every 100 miles compared to the cost of gasoline.
